The larger part called Hon Chong (Husband Rock) is a group of massive big and small rocks lying on top of one another. On the side that faces the sea, there is a hand-shaped dent on a rock.
Legend has it that the dent is the handprint of a giant man who gripped the rock to keep from being pulled away when a big fish Another legend is that the giant man, while going sightseeing at this place, caught the sight of fairies taking bath. Immersed into the scene, he accidentally slipped his feet. As he fell down, the giant man gripped a mountain, causing rocks to slide down, one of which with his handprint. Interestingly, a big footprint with 5 toes exists at the Suoi Tien (Fairy Spring) area.
Also lying in the promontory are various strange looking rocks, such as the stone “gate”. The second cluster has a name that relates to the first one, Hon Vo (Wife Rock). This cluster is smaller and attract less attention from visitors.

Long Son Temple (photo retrieved from dulichlongson.vn)
The temple was established in 1886 by Buddhist monk Thich Ngo Chi (real name Nguyen Tam Van Nghi, born 1856). In the early days, it was called “Dang Long Tu” and was only a small cottage on the hill of Trai Thuy, where the White Buddha sculpture is lying. In 1990, a fierce storm partly destroyed the temple. Seeing the risks, Thich Ngo Chi decided to move the temple down from the hill, and rename it Long Son Tu.
In 1936, following Thich Ngo Chi’s last words, the temple was transferred to the An Nam Buddhist Club to revive Buddhism in Khanh Hoa. It was recognized as “Sac tu Long Son tu” in the 14th year of the Bao Dai regime, 1938. Nowadays, the temple remains an office for the Khanh Hoa branch of the Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam.
In 1941, Ton That Quyen, head of the Buddhist club and another Buddhist, Vi Dinh Thuy, renovated the temple. The temple lost part of its tile roof in 1968. In 1971, Venerable Thich Thien Binh renovated the temple again, following a design by architect Vo Dinh Diep. Only 60% of the renovation work was done when political changes happened in 1975.

The Bao Dai Villas covers 3 small hills on the Canh Long Mountain, which overlooks the sea. You will find here fresh, cool air, a serene atmosphere, sea breeze all year round, lush green coconut palm, birds singing, blue sea and a white sand beach.
The history of the Bao Dai Villas is associated with the establishment of the Indochina Institute of Oceanography (now known as the Nha Trang Institute of Oceanography). Since Nha Trang is situated in the middle of the South China Sea where there is significant marine biodiversity, French scientists decided to establish their base in the city and conduct their studies there.
In 1923, Doctor Krempt, a French scientist of German descent, directed the construction of the five villas on the hill top (now called the Cau Da Villas). The five villas were named after the flowers and plants in their garden: Les Agaves (the Agaves), Les Frangipaniers (the Frangipaniers), Les Bouguinvilles (the Bougainvillea) , Les Flamboyants (the Flamboyant), Les Badamniers (the Badamier).
The first inhabitant of Les Agaves was Doctor Krempt, Director of the Institute of Oceanography. When Bao Dai took the crown in 1926, the French transferred to him two of the villas, Les Agaves and Les Frangipaniers. The new king used these two as a holiday resort for him and Queen Nam Phuong, hence the name Bao Dai Villas. After 1954, Les Agaves was renamed Nghinh Phong (English: to welcome the wind), and Les Frangipaniers became Vong Nguyet (English: to admire the moon). These names remain until today.
